The future closure of Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus presents one of the most significant redevelopment opportunities the community will face. Chris believes whatever comes next must do more than simply fit on the site, it must contribute positively to the surrounding neighbourhood and the city as a whole. He will push for a planning process that includes meaningful and direct input from residents from the very beginning.
Chris will also continue supporting the work to establish Walkerville as a Heritage Conservation District. This is an opportunity to protect and promote one of Windsor's most historically significant neighbourhoods while establishing a clear vision for how its heritage, businesses, public spaces and future development work together for generations to come.
Protecting Walkerville
remain a central focus. Windsor has already adopted the Vision Zero framework and a comprehensive Action Plan containing 42 measures aimed at reducing serious injuries and deaths on our roads. Chris believes the framework is in place, the challenge now is having the political will to fully implement it. Whether someone is driving, walking, cycling or using public transit, Windsor's streets should be designed and managed with safety as the priority.
Safer streets
Chris believes Windsor must increase its housing supply, but growth must strengthen the city rather than create greater long-term financial pressures. Instead of relying solely on continued outward expansion, Windsor needs to build more housing in ways that make better use of existing infrastructure, support neighbourhood businesses and create complete, connected communities.
Chris will bring this approach to every decision he makes at the council table: looking beyond short-term fixes and considering how transportation, housing, neighbourhoods, infrastructure and city finances all work together.
